SHANGHAI, China, Nov. 6, 2026 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) has joined international business associations in an initiative led by the Bank of China (BOC) to facilitate exports to the Chinese market and strengthen global economic and trade cooperation.
CAC President Silot Uon represented the association at the 9th Hongqiao Forum, themed “Leveraging Financial Power to Promote Global Economic & Trade Cooperation and Innovative Development,” hosted by Bank of China in Shanghai.
The event brought together business associations, international chambers of commerce and government representatives to explore how financial cooperation can support international trade, investment and innovation-driven development.
A key highlight was the official launch of an initiative involving global business associations to facilitate exports to China. Guest Speakers included Oknha Ly Kunthai, President of the Cambodia Confederation of Investors Association, representatives of chambers of commerce from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Singapore, as well as the Minister of Commerce of Angola.
CAC was among the invited business associations participating in the initiative. Notably, two agriculture-related organisations — CAC and the US Soybean Council — have signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Bank of China and were invited to attend the event.
The sub-forum was held in conjunction with the China International Import Expo (CIIE), taking place in Shanghai from November 4 to 6, 2026.
CAC’s participation provides an opportunity to strengthen its international network, explore financial and trade cooperation, and promote Cambodian cashew products to Chinese buyers.
Through this engagement, CAC aims to expand market access for its members, facilitate business connections and support the development of Cambodia’s cashew exports in the Chinese market.
