Phnom Penh, July 9, 2026 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) participated in a high-level dissemination workshop on the progress of the Royal Government's reform agenda under the Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF), reaffirming the importance of public-private dialogue in improving Cambodia's business and investment climate.

The workshop, held at Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh, was presided over by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the G-PSF mechanism. It was attended by Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Chairman of the Private Sector Coordinating Committee for the G-PSF, together with senior government officials, representatives of ministries, development partners, foreign embassies, business associations and private sector stakeholders. CAC was represented by two delegates at the event.

The workshop presented the implementation progress of the reform measures introduced during the 19th Government-Private Sector Forum. As of the second semester of 2025, 169 out of 179 reform measures, or 94.4 percent, have been fully implemented, while the remaining 10 measures are progressing through inter-ministerial coordination and legal amendment processes.

The reform package focuses on improving the business and investment environment, reducing regulatory burdens, facilitating tax and customs procedures, strengthening transport infrastructure, promoting tourism, supporting agriculture and agro-industry, enhancing the banking and financial sector, developing the mineral and energy industries, improving the construction and real estate sector, and addressing other business-related concerns.

Co-organized by the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the Council for the Development of Cambodia with support from the Australian Government through the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), the workshop also featured panel discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions on the implementation of the reform measures.

Separately, CAC has been invited by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) to submit recommendations and industry feedback in preparation for the upcoming Government-Private Sector Forum. The Ministry has requested CAC President Silot Uon to coordinate with members from the manufacturing, small and medium enterprise (SME), and service sectors to identify current business challenges and propose practical solutions.

The consolidated recommendations will be submitted to MISTI by July 15, 2026, providing input for discussions with relevant government institutions as part of the preparations for the next Government-Private Sector Forum. The initiative highlights CAC's growing role in representing Cambodia's cashew industry and ensuring that the sector's priorities are reflected in national policy dialogue.
