The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) held a meeting with Singapore-based multinational company TechCoop on March 4, 2026, at the CAC headquarters in Kampong Thom province to discuss potential cooperation in the Cambodian cashew sector.
During the meeting, TechCoop expressed interest in launching a pilot project to purchase one container of cashew kernels per month from Cambodia. The company is also considering alternative partnership models, including joint investments with local processing companies that demonstrate strong quality-based management and a commitment to working with international investors. Such partnerships could enable TechCoop to secure premium-quality cashew nuts from Cambodia.
Silot Uon, President of the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia, welcomed TechCoop’s interest in Cambodian cashews, noting that the country’s cashew nuts are globally recognized as a premium product. He also highlighted opportunities in organic cashew production and recommended that TechCoop connect with Mirarth Agri Tech, a company widely accredited by Ecocert for organic certification.
As part of the meeting, CAC facilitated introductions between TechCoop and several of its member processing companies to explore potential collaboration.
Meanwhile KH Nut Processing Co., Ltd., a cashew processing company invested in by Chinese stakeholders and located in Ta Prok Village, Chamkar Leu District, Kampong Cham Province. KH Nut Processing Co., Ltd. currently procures raw cashew nuts from local farmers at competitive prices and operates a processing facility with a capacity of 50 tons of raw cashew nuts per day on a single shift basis. The company also manages another cashew processing plant in Vietnam, strengthening its regional presence in the cashew industry.
The discussions reflect growing international interest in Cambodia’s cashew sector as the country continues to expand its processing capacity and position itself as a supplier of high-quality cashew kernels to global markets.
