Tokyo, Japan, May 4, 2026 — The 10th Cambodia Festival 2026 concluded successfully in Tokyo this week, reinforcing the growing relationship between Cambodia and Japan under the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership while promoting deeper cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections between the two nations.
Held on May 3–4, the annual festival once again served as a major platform for cultural exchange and economic diplomacy, attracting thousands of visitors eager to experience Cambodia’s rich heritage, tourism potential, and investment opportunities.
Organizers said the festival has become increasingly important in strengthening mutual understanding between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Japan, while also supporting trade, tourism, and investment cooperation.
The two-day event featured a wide range of activities showcasing both Cambodia’s traditional culture and its modern dynamism. Visitors enjoyed classical Khmer dance performances by Cambodian artists, cultural exhibitions, and live music performances by well-known Cambodian and Japanese singers, creating a vibrant atmosphere of shared appreciation and friendship.
This year’s festival included more than 90 exhibition booths displaying authentic Cambodian cuisine, traditional handicrafts, locally made products, tourism information, and business and investment opportunities. The event offered Japanese visitors an immersive introduction to Cambodia’s culture, economy, and society.
The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) also participated in the festival through its representative in Japan, Takayuki Imahashi.
Mr. Imahashi highlighted the growing interest in Cambodian cashew products among Japanese consumers and distributors during the event.
“My friends who are promoting Cambodian cashew nuts and products in Japan were very active at the festival,” he said. “My family and I were very good distributors at the festival dedicated to Cambodian cashew nuts.”
Silot Uon, chairman of CAC, noted that Cambodia’s participation in international cultural and trade festivals reflects the country’s broader strategy to expand global recognition of Cambodian agricultural products, particularly premium cashew nuts, while strengthening economic diplomacy with key international partners such as Japan.
The Cambodia Festival continues to serve not only as a celebration of culture, but also as a strategic gateway for expanding Cambodia’s global trade and investment connections.
