Kampong Thom, February 9, 2026 — The Cashew Association of Cambodia (CAC) met with Mirarth Green Tech Co., Ltd., with support from the Department of Agro-Industry (DIA) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), to discuss opportunities for developing cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) production in Cambodia. The meeting was held at the CAC head office in Kampong Thom province.
During the discussion, the DIA emphasized its objective to reduce production costs for cashew processing plants across Cambodia by introducing modern technology and value-added processing. Mirarth Green Tech Co., Ltd., a Japan-based company specializing in clean energy solutions, expressed strong interest in investing in CNSL extraction in Cambodia. Its Cambodian subsidiary, Mirarth Agri Tech Co., Ltd., will play a key role in implementing the project locally.
The meeting highlighted the introduction of advanced CNSL extraction machinery developed by Top Planning Japan Co., Ltd. The companies aim to invest further in CNSL production to lower processing costs by extracting oil from cashew nut shells. Remaining waste materials cashew nut shell extract (CNSE) will be sold to Modori Climate Partner Pte., Ltd. for biochar production, supporting a zero-waste management approach.
Under a cooperation framework between Mirarth Green Tech and the Japan Cooperation Center for Petroleum (JCCP), the company plans to launch a pilot CNSL project in August 2026 at the existing Mirarth Agri Tech facility in Kampong Thom province. If the pilot project proves successful, Mirarth Green Tech intends to expand the initiative to medium- and large-scale cashew processing plants nationwide.
The expansion plan includes subsidizing modern machinery and guaranteeing the buyback of CNSL, which would help local processors reduce dependence on foreign buyers, lower production costs, and enhance the competitiveness of Cambodian cashew nuts in international markets.
However, Mirarth Green Tech noted that support from the Cashew nut Association of Cambodia will be essential to facilitate cooperation with CAC member processing plants. CAC chairman Mr. Silot Uon welcomed the initiative, describing it as a strong opportunity for local processors, and pledged CAC’s commitment to working closely with Mirarth Green Tech and domestic processing plants to ensure the project’s success.
