Kampong Thom, Cambodia, June 2026 — The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) has expressed its appreciation to Khmer Agro Cashew Co., Ltd. (KAC) for donating an LCD projector to support farmer training programs scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
Silot Uon, president of CAC, said the equipment will be used during technical training sessions for cashew farmers, helping improve knowledge transfer on production techniques, quality standards, climate adaptation, and post-harvest management.
The contribution comes as Khmer Agro Cashew accelerates preparations for the launch of its processing operations. Founded in 2025, the Cambodian agribusiness is positioning itself as a key player in the country’s growing cashew processing industry.
Earlier this year, the company signed a two-month production agreement with six agricultural communities in Kratie province, for the supply of the M23 cashew variety during the 2026 harvest season. The M23 variety is widely recognized for its large kernel size, premium quality, and strong export potential.
According to Managing Director Ear Kokchheng, the company aims to source high-quality raw cashew nuts directly from farmer organizations for processing and export to international markets, including Japan, Taiwan, and Europe.
“Direct sourcing from farmer groups will help create stable demand, reduce reliance on intermediaries, and improve income opportunities for rural communities,” company representatives said.
Khmer Agro Cashew is developing a processing facility with a capacity of 50 tonnes of raw cashew nuts per day and expects to commence commercial production in early August 2026. The company’s long-term vision is to become a leading exporter of premium single-origin Khmer cashew kernels to global markets.
To strengthen market access, KAC has already scheduled certification audits with SGS and expects to obtain HALAL, ISO 22000, and ISO 9001 certifications by August 2026. The company is also targeting BRCGS certification by November 2026 to meet international food safety and quality requirements.
The processing facility is expected to create approximately 100 jobs, contributing to local economic development while supporting Cambodia’s broader goal of expanding domestic cashew processing and increasing value-added exports.
CAC noted that partnerships between processors and farmer organizations are critical to building a sustainable cashew industry and ensuring that more of the value generated from Cambodia’s cashew production remains within the country.
