PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, June 11— The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) is participating in the second annual Economic Growth Dialogue, a high-level forum bringing together business leaders, policymakers, researchers, and development partners to discuss Cambodia's economic outlook and private sector development.
The event, scheduled for June 11, 2026, is organized by the Development Partners Coordination Group.
The Economic Growth Dialogue is hosted by a coalition of development partners focused on economic growth and private sector development in Cambodia. The initiative is co-chaired by the Australian Embassy and the World Bank, with the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED) serving as the secretariat.
Building on the success of its inaugural event in April 2025, the dialogue is intended to become an annual platform for engagement between the public and private sectors. Participants will include business membership organizations, international chambers of commerce, private companies, universities, think tanks, and development partners active in Cambodia's economic development landscape.
This year's forum features presentations on the latest research and analysis of Cambodia's macro-economic outlook, as well as discussions on the socio-economic impacts of global energy market volatility and geopolitical developments. Experts will also examine emerging risks and opportunities across key sectors, including finance, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and employment.
As a leading representative of Cambodia's cashew industry, CAC's participation will provide an opportunity to contribute industry perspectives on agricultural development, export competitiveness, value-added processing, and the broader business environment.
Following the morning presentations, private sector representatives engage in discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing Cambodia's economy. Participants are expected to share insights on investment conditions, regulatory reforms, business constraints, and strategies to enhance the country's economic competitiveness.
CAC Vice-President Suy Kokthean said forums such as the Economic Growth Dialogue play an important role in fostering collaboration between the private sector, development partners, and policymakers.
"The cashew industry is a significant contributor to Cambodia's agricultural economy, and it is important that our sector's experiences and recommendations are part of the national dialogue on economic growth and private sector development," he said.
The event is expected to generate valuable recommendations to support sustainable economic growth, strengthen the business environment, and promote greater investment across Cambodia's key productive sectors.
